40-day Challenge (day 14)

Day 14 - Back to basics

This is to lead into the leadership retreat next week. For those who aren't going, don't worry; I gurantee that it's going to be pretty boring. Anyway, back to basics; that is essentially going to be what I am going to talk about the next few posts.

Every been asked questions about Christianity that you cannot answer? Why are there so many denominations? How do you explain creation vs evolution? Do dinosaurs really exist? blah blah blah...

But are those questions really important? In my honest opinion; THEY ARE! But are they essential for the Christian faith... ah... I don't think so. But if they are not imporatant to Christianity, then what is?

"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." - 1 Peter 3:15

What is this hope? If you read the rest of the passage in 1 Peter; you will realise that this hope is not about life, but death and suffering. That is the basis of the Christian faith; the Gospel.
