verses read: Acts 1-11 (!??!)

Okay... didn't actually read those chapters... actually watched a video of it. But it was word for word from the NIV. And I was reading the Bible itself as the movie played on... so I guess it counts! Had the first LG today; my prayer is that in the coming weeks and months we will grow together in faith and in our grounding of the Word.

A long time ago in England, there was a brother and a sister. They were very poor, but despite that, they loved each other deeply. The brother kept an old family heirloom, a watch. Not those you wear on your wrist, but those you attach to a chain and keep in your pocket. Unfortunately the chain of this watch had been missing for many years. The sister had very beautiful long hair and was the envy of her village. However, she had no comb to straighten her hair.

One christmas, the Sister thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if brother had a nice chain to go with his watch for Christmas? But where will I get the money from?" Then an idea struck her, and she went to a wig shop and asked if she could sell her hair. And so they cut her hair and she used the money to buy her brother a chain for the watch.

But when the brother had returned home and saw the chain, he began to cry. For he had pawned the watch for money to give his sister a comb for Christmas....

Have you even been in a situation where you care and love someone so much and the other person cares and loves you so much that both of you really sacrifice a lot for each other. But as a result of doing so you hurt each other? I guess that really brings a new meaning to loving till it hurts. We will always face hurts and pains in our relationships with other people; but I'm sure these are meant to strengthen rather than weaken the relationship.

Jesus' sacrifice was a ultimate one. He suffered the greatest hurt and the greatest pain so that we can love others the way He loves us. I'm sure that love will find a way; it always has.
